The website www.fadoff.cz / www.fadoff.eu takes over the outcome of the development process started by Jan Papuga on www.pragtic.com website. The reason for creation and the goal of the database is linked to forming the FADOFF consortium. The meaning of FADOFF acronym stands for Fatigue Analysis Documentation OFFice. Databases delivered to the users here are intended to help as a reference basis for pre-design and design purposes, validating various computational fatigue methods and commercial and non-commercial fatigue solvers. The first letter in the acronym stands for fatigue and this is the main target issue of the database system.

The database focuses on interpreted static and fatigue material properties referred to in various research, scientific and technical papers. In most cases, we do our best to get to the base information resulting from the experiments and follow our own regression analysis. In such a case, the experimental non-processed data are gathered in the database of fatigue experiments, and the database of materials covers only the results of regression.
Using available literature sources anyhow means that, sometimes, only the final regression data are provided by the authors. The missing base information on experiments can be quickly recognized by missing link to the individual experiments.
FADOFF databases keep the strict rule, that no information can be transferred via the website to the users without a proper link to the existing document, which reports those data. Because we use various regression models and not only those one dedicated, the final regression values in cases based on individual experimental data can differ from those delivered by the original authors.
Because we need to link the individual material parameters and experimental data to their origin, we faced the need to include complete references to the original papers. Once established, we are attempting to maximize the usability of such a system. The individual references are thus deconstructed to categorized items and saved to a database system. Thanks to that, you can use our search engine to look for various papers of interest.
Today, the focus on two major fatigue research papers publishers – ScienceDirect® of Elsevier B.V. and Wiley Online Library™ means, that you can search through papers being otherwise searched in two separate databases. Each database item concerning the current papers includes also a link to the appearance of the paper on the website, where it can be either bought or accessed, if you have access to such databases.
In addition to that, active search for fatigue prediction methods and fatigue experiments brings us to checking also papers and reports, which are not today available online. Even such papers are analyzed, classified and saved to the system.
The common bibliographic citation covers sometimes abstract to be searched through and the keywords defined by authors. We are hard working on another system of categorization, which is manifested by green or red dots related to view on every bibliographic reference. These marks are added in order to show, whether a deeper analysis of the paper was realized, and the paper was categorized to cover some of the predefined fatigue topics, which are its main features, how these topics are analyzed or reported in the paper, etc. It has to be admitted, that this kind of categorization is extremely time demanding and based on a patient work of the reporting persons. Base: As noted already by the database of materials, also this section contains only data, which can be traced back to a particular paper or report. The individual database items are products of processing the input information through the off-line system FinLiv.VBA. This application is specially designed to simplify the input of data, their analysis by various regression methods and preparing various transfer and batch files for next fatigue analyses in different fatigue tools. On the other hand, the on-line FinLiv application provided here serves mostly for presenting the final processed information and the experimental items to the users. It allows the user to search quite extensively and to compare various data items.
The database is also used for our in-house testing of various fatigue prediction methods. Results of these analyses are reported next in the Database of fatigue predictions.
Market: In addition to publicly available data items, we collect also information provided by external parties – universities, research centers or private companies, which offer experimental data, which they retrieved and possess. This type of data can be quickly recognized by the scant parameters available for free in the Base section, the link to the experimental laboratory, where they were retrieved and the fee amount adjoined to the item. FADOFF here acts as the mediator, and the only party responsible for the quality of the data is the data provider, who placed the offer to FADOFF website. In order to strengthen the trustworthiness of the offers, a marking system for selling and buying parties of any deal is available.
The database of fatigue prediction presents the final part of the analytic process realized within FADOFF consortium. It takes over the data gathered within the database of fatigue experiments and the specialized dedicated tools developed within the consortium allow us to evaluate the applicability of various fatigue prediction methods and tools as quickly as possible. The database tool presented here then serves for handing over the results to its users. Thanks to the search tool, the database items can be analyzed not only in individual items or as the whole unit, but also minor groups can be built for partial analyses. A lot of fatigue methods, solution and standards cannot be expected to be valid universally, thus such a limitation on the focused group of results is reasonable, while allowing to check the condition close to the real service and operation.

It's success made us to increase its scope, so it currently allows the registered users to input the conference on general mechanical engineering topics.
